No we’re not – but as a company that facilitates genetic research,
we share a responsibility to develop and use technologies to the
best advantage of future generations. Genetics can be ‘scary’ because
while research offers unimaginable opportunities to benefit society,
it also raises many questions that society will need to debate and
answer.
Decisions need to be informed. We’re dedicated to catalysing and
encouraging dialogue to ensure they are.
To this end, we’re co-sponsoring a series of public debates at
The Royal Institution of Great Britain, and a similar lecture series
at the National Hospital in Norway. ‘Genes, Medicine and Society’
will examine the consequences of the emerging gene economy.
Like you, we feel responsible for the next generation.
