Timing. This is the key to more effective treatment. The earlier
our products are used to help diagnose a disease, the earlier you
can deal with it. Time is of the essence when a patient suffers
an apparent heart attack. Our heart imaging product, Myoview, can
quickly and accurately demonstrate which areas of the heart are
affected and how serious the damage is. Myoview has proved so effective
in visualising blood flow to the heart muscle that it's used every
18 seconds to examine a heart patient in the US.
We're also working to expand the role of imaging beyond diagnosis.
Predictive screening will detect disease earlier. Already, our DaTSCAN
product can detect the first signs of Parkinson's Disease and
differentiate this condition from other, less serious brain disorders.
This will become invaluable as new therapies evolve for treating
Parkinson's Disease earlier. Ultimately, we aim to diagnose
disease before it becomes apparent. We can't stop the clock,
but we're doing our bit to stop disease.
