Health, Safety & Environment Standards
Previous Contents Next
The new HS&E standards clarify management's intent in key areas for all sites and business units. The standards are concise, practical and are performance based rather than prescriptive. The company believes that inflexible prescription of methods is not the best mechanism for implementing HS&E standards across a global, multi-site company. Instead, sites are required to develop their own processes and procedures for achieving compliance and delivering continuous improvement in HS&E performance.

This document summarises the HS&E standards introduced in 1999. These are available on the company's intranet, which has a unique site for the HS&E function. This site highlights general HS&E issues, topical matters of interest to operational sites, etc, and can be used for rapid dissemination of company HS&E information.
