Amersham's commitment to health, safety and the environment is embodied
in its new HS&E policy. This was formally adopted by the Nycomed
Amersham Board in February 1999 and has been endorsed by the Chief
Executive. The policy applies to all employees in all businesses of
the company and any other subsidiary activities controlled by Nycomed
Amersham plc. It is a comprehensive and pro-active policy implemented
through a series of functionally specific standards relating to safe
and environmentally sound working practices. Specifically, the policy
commits the company to regard HS&E considerations as integral
to the management of the business.
