Nycomed Amersham
Health, Safety & Environment Management
Previous Contents Next
Following the mergers which created the company, Nycomed Amersham has undergone considerable restructuring and rationalisation of its facilities, business lines, operational and corporate procedures. Amongst these was consolidation of the various health, safety and environment (HS&E) programmes already in place and being developed within the previously separate components of the company. A major review was undertaken of the HS&E practices in place at each of the company's business units.

From this review, Nycomed Amersham has developed a common set of HS&E policies and standards, backed up with guidelines on their implementation. The management of HS&E issues has been integrated directly into the line management structure in each of the company's business units throughout the world. Coordinating the introduction and implementation of new standards and procedures is a core team of HS&E practitioners, managed through the Group Technical Services function, the Director of which is a member of the Group Management Committee. The Director reports directly to the Chief Executive of Nycomed Amersham who carries Main Board responsibility for HS&E.
