This section contains our environmental performance data and describes
the initiatives we are taking to manage and reduce our environmental
impacts.
Our data collection systems are new and we are working to improve
accuracy and also to refine the performance measures used. Where
environmental data were not available for 1999, we have estimated
them based on 2000 and 2001. We plan to review and validate the
procedures used to report solvent emissions and discharges to air
and water.
Our overall environmental impact has increased over the past three
years due to the growth of our business. Production has increased
by over 10% at almost every site. We plan to index data to production
in our next report, taking into account the range of products which
we manufacture such as instruments, separations systems and media,
and pharmaceutical products.
